THE CHALLENGE
The Maschinenfabrik Liezen und Gießerei GesmbH (MFL) looks back on more than fifty years of experience in machine building and foundry. MFL has 800 employees, constructs industrial plants and special-purpose machines, but also takes on the job order production of single components as well as mass production and operates a foundry.
To optimise its existing IT security MFL was looking for competent, reliable, long term IT partner ACP to realise a new security concept.
THE SOLUTION
The security experts of ACP conducted a comprehensive system-analysis of the existing configurations at MFL. Then ACP realised a new security concept. The existing firewalls remain active at MFL’s branches. At the headquarter ACP implemented a new security solution based on Linux Security Manager. The traffic is being operated according to requirements via VPN-connections. Additionally, UTM appliances by Fortinet are implemented, which enable a great number of additional security features.
THE ADVANTAGES
- Best cost-benefit-ratio: to update the old system would have been more expensive
- Existing equipment could be integrated medium-term
- Pro-active maintenance by ACP experts
- A one-stop-solution
- Open Source, no user-dependant licensing costs
CONCLUSION
Gerhard Eidenberger, IT management Maschinenfabrik Liezen und Gießerei: "From the very beginning, ACP convinced us with their professionalism and flexibility!"
